Eclipse Platform

Eclipse Platform — основной, базовый проект Eclipse, представляет собой несколько java-фреймворков и поддержку подключения плагинов.

Разбит на следующие субпроекты:

1. Ant — Eclipse/Ant integration
2. Core — Platform runtime and resource management
3. CVS — Platform CVS Integration
4. Debug — Generic execution debug framework
5. Releng — Release Engineering
6. Search — Integrated search facility
7. SWT — Standard Widget Toolkit
8. Team/Compare — Generic Team and Compare support frameworks
9. Text — Text editor framework
10. User Assistance — Help system, initial user experience, cheat sheets etc.
11. UI — Platform user interface
12. Update — Dynamic Update/Install/Field Service
13. WebDAV — WebDAV integration

На основе Eclipse platform строятся Eclipse RCP-приложения. Наиболее известное — «Eclipse-IDE» для Java.
