This fixed combination drug marketed by Wallace Pharmaceuticals contained hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic drug, and meprobamate, a tranquilizing drug (also marketed by Wallace under the name Miltown).

Following enactment of the 1962 Drug Amendments, FDA took issue with, among other things, the definition of “pre-menstrual syndrome” in the June 1964 advertisement for Pree mt in JAMA in which one of the symptoms is defined as a “wish to call mother.” Wallace’s October advertisement, in contrast, defines the symptoms of PMS more objectively.

FDA opposed many fixed combination drugs during this period so it is likely that this drug was one of many discontinued by the end of the decade.
